I know this perfume is supposed to be the Iris embodied, encapsulated, specifically, bottled.
But it is so much more than that. And yet, not more than a single scent or message.
It does not smell like a soft, sweet flower. And if you know the smell of the Iris then that doesn't surprise you. This scent has been around for a while but there have been a number of Iris-based perfumes coming out of late (Bois d'Iris, Iris Pallida) but this one is different. It is deep. It's not light and floweredy and airy and wispy and carefree. It's sensual.
The first moments are the deepest, strongest, most tenored. Later as it fades (and it does fade quickly!!!) it does seem to get lighter, even turn powdery.
I was pleased with the bottle and the shipping. It seemed to take forever to arrive but did come within the expected frame of arrival. It doesn't bother me that it does not have a box. I was worried it would not have a top since it doesn't in the picture but it does. That is more important than the box to me. And the bottle is HUGE.
